Color Rendition is the ability of a white light source to faithfully represent the colors of objects and surfaces illuminated with it.
Relio² is engineered to emit a light comparable to Sunlight, in terms of purity, concentration and color rendition.
Improved Color Separation
Typical LED lamps favour energy efficiency at the cost of spectrum continuity: that leads to unsatisfactory color rendition.
Relio² emits a continuous spectrum of visible light, improving color clarity and making the subltlest color variations more apparent to cameras and naked eyes.
To achieve maximum color rendition and flux intensity, we gave Relio² an exceptional kind of TIR optics.
It's a 2-stage collimation system, where a multitude of superficial micro-domes furtherly homogenizes the chromaticity of the emitted light.

Relio² light is certified and calibrated by professional spectrophotometry testing.
The results? An impressive 98% TLCI and more than 40.000 lux @ 25cm.

- The Modularity Core
Relio² is an instrument that loves standards.
Both the lamp module and the Base kit use a standard 1/4-20 UNC “camera mount” thread.
The slotted Base can host up to 3x rods.
Finely machined stainless-steel caps cover the unused slots on the Base.
- The Mounting Core
Neodymium magnets and anti-slip foam pads generate more than 10Kg of attraction force, to allow both a safe horizontal and vertical placement.
For non-magnetic surfaces, we give you 4x metallic washers to apply on the desired material.
On the Base, we even put a slotted notch: use it to hang Relio² on wall-protuding pins.
- Degrees of Freedom
Each lamp module has full 360º rotational freedom on both axes.
This still holds true when combining multiple Relio² units on the same Base.
No tools required: the adjustments are made by hand.
- Interchangeable Lenses
How’d you call a light modular”, without a full set of interchangeable lenses?
Swap the optics on each Relio² lamp element, and make it either a spotlight or a floodlight.
The Base kit includes 10º, 25º, 60º lenses and one special 10×70º asymmetrical lens.
The Desk kit includes an additional, larger 90º lens.
- Cable Management
On the bottom, a T-shaped passage allows for many elegant takes on cable management.
Thanks to the ultra-slim foam pads that protude for just 0.4mm, the cable will stay firmly in place.

With our official App, you can wirelessly control Relio² brightness level via Bluetooth®.
We designed a proprietary “Halogen-like” algorithm that tweaks Relio² dimming curve to simulate the afterglow of traditional incandescent lamps.
For use in open spaces or laboratories, the App includes a “Secure mode” and a “Strobe mode”.
Ultra Slow-motion Suitable
Relio² light is so stable that is guaranteed flicker-free up to 10.000 fps.
A rarity: that still holds true when the light is dimmed.
Thanks to Relio² extermely high luminance, it’s a perfect companion for slow-motion macro shots or scientific image acquisition.
Relio² can also be dimmed via external microcontrollers like Arduino® and Raspberry-Pi®.
The electronics can operate up to 15V DC and will withstand lightning surges up to 20.000 Volt.

When performing color critical-tasks, using calibrated light is a way to certify and add value to your work.
If undecided, pick the 4000K version: it has a neutral white point that is accurate, pleasant and warmer than you may expect.

As for the white versions, we managed to cherrypick the most rare and unseen color spectrums.
They’re best suited for artistic or colorimetric purposes.

How do I get a Relio² kit?
Currently, Relio² is sold exclusively on this website.
Does it have an internal battery?
No. We want Relio² to withstand years and years of 24/7 use. An internal battery in such a small and powerful device would be able to power Relio² for just 15 minutes at full brightness, with a lifetime spanning no more than 6 months. Name - if you can - one product with an integrated, non-removable battery that’s still 100% funcional after years of use...
How do I power it up?
Via the external microUSB connector. Every USB outlet in the world capable of providing at least 1A of current is suitable.
Why does Relio² still have a microUSB plug instead of the newer USB-C?
The answer is simple: maximum cable length and cord flexibiity. USB-C is born to transport a lot of data channels, so the internal wire count is 4x more, making it very thick and more rigid. For the same reason, USB-C cables lenght is limited to 2m. In the Relio² Base Kit package, we include 1x 1.5m magnetic, nylon-braided microUSB cable and 1x premium, gold-plated, nylon-braided 3m microUSB cable from a premium brand.
Can I use USB-C to USB-A, or USB-C to microUSB adapters?
Yes, of course.
Is the magnetic cable user-replaceable?
Yes. Contact us for a suitable replacement.
What if I use Relio² a lot and some parts wear out?
We engineered all the Relio² parts subject to normal-use wear and tear to be of common availability. Contact us for suitable replacements.
Does it have a manufacturer warranty? What does it cover?
How much power does Relio² draw?
1A at 5V DC. Since it integrates a step-down buck converter capable of up to 15V DC, power consumption at higher voltages will be less.
Can I power it up with a car battery or other sources of electricity?
Is it water resistant?
How many units can be operated through the smartphone App?
On iOS, we successfully tested up to 16 devices. On Android, it varies depending on the platform (around 5 units). Please note that aggregate brightness control function is still in development.
Can I develop a custom Bluetooth BLE application?
Yes. You can refer to our BLE API documentation. Please note that developing commercial applications is not permitted unless an explicit consent is received by us. Please contact us for more info.

Yes, with some limitations in some remote areas. If you don't see your Country listed in the shipping form, please contact us.
You said that the LED will be upgradeable. How will you handle that?
This is a commitment and we will honour it in case the technology advances. All the future LED upgrades will be backwards-compatible, so you'll be able to ship your Relio² kits back to us for the upgrade, for a minimal servicing fee.
Can I disassemble the LED and eletronics by myself?
Yes, and it's rather easy to do, but the warranty will be voided.
I accidentally damaged something in my unit. Are spare parts available for sale?
Yes, depending on stock availability. Please contact us and we will help you.
Do you sell physical versions of your 3D-printable accessories?
Currently no, but we partnered with some local and international suppliers that will be able to 3D-print and ship them to you. Please contact us for more info.
